Palate Contaminants: sweets an hour before
The color is a spot-on gold. Moderate opaqueness. Lots of fine head, although it doesn't seem to leave much lacing.
Smell has light brett, and it's definitely got a wheat brew thing going for it. There's some mossy earthiness in there, too. Powdered sugar candies. There's some sort of non-sweet fruit that I just can't quite put a name to.
The taste is almost straight up apple cider, with a little funk. It also has some flint. (I see chardonnay aging, and there are chardonnays that have lots of apple with flint, so it makes sense.) There's also some light acidity, most akin to what I get from a pomelo. Good, certainly, but I'd love to have more depth in the flavor.
If "dry" ever needed to be applied to a brew, it's this one. Plenty of fine, foamy carbonation. Alcohol about par for a sixer.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of chardonnay are present in the nose. Key limes become apparent as the beer warms up to the point where they stand out in front of the chardonnay.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of chardonnay from the barrel aging along hints of key limes and funk from the Brettanomyces. Similar to the smell, the key limes become stronger as the beer warms up.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting saison, but you need to let it warm up a bit to let the key lime flavors shine through.
