Unique Dignities honors the delicate balance of recognizing commonalities while respecting the uniqueness that each element bringsto the whole. In this beer, a coalitionof 6-row and 2-row malts combine with golden naked oats to form one unified whole, all of which aged in wine barrels until round, balanced, and pleasantly tart. Thus, in beer, as in life, it is both common strengths and unique diginities that help to build depth and character. Sante!

750ml bottle, 2020 release, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a cloudy amber color, copper and golden hues with a foamy white head, about a finger or so with modest retention and limited lacing. The aroma is pleasant, hearty grains, rustic with a nice oaky funk, soft citrus, wildflower with a hint of peppercorn spice. The flavors are good, hearty cereal grains, evocative of the countryside, oak, funk, house cultures though not too buggy, modest citrus peel, wildflower and a touch of spiciness. The mouthfeel is good, heavier medium body, lively and coating with a tart and lightly dry finish.

Verdict: A nice barrel-aged saison from Sante Adairius. Hearty and grain forward, definitely embracing the rustic ales in their name, this is a very pleasant and sessionable farmhouse ale.
