$8 pint at the source.
Presents opaque black with a thin, tan head.
Charred bakers chocolate in the nose.
Full bodied with a chewy mouthfeel.
Dark chocolate on the palate with shades of black roasted malts.
Finishes dry and very old school.

Candia Road Brewing Co. "Neighbors Night Terrors & Nitrogen Bombs."
1 PINT can, coded "6/5/18 DON'T B SKUURRD"
$3.75 @ Candia Road Convenience, Manchester, NH
Notes via stream of consciousness: Great label, and great name. What style of beer is this? Ah, a stout at 7% abv. Nice. The can didn't seem to have a full pressure to it so I gave it a fully inverted rough pour which brought up a finger-thick head of tan foam over an opaque black body. It's so dark in fact that if I hold it to the light I don't get any highlights or glimmers of light coming through. The head has settled already and there's just an average collar left. The aroma suggest bittersweet black chocolate and a roastiness that's like cold black coffee and charred wood. On to the flavor... it's more chocolatey with a little sweetness there, some caramel, some apple-like fruitiness, and again, that big roastiness. It finishes dry with a median bitterness and some of that roastiness, followed by some lingering fruitiness. In the mouth it's medium-light in body, and quite smooth. There's not a lot of carbonation here, I'm guessing it's in the 1.8 - 2.0 range where as 2.5 - 2.6 volumes of CO2 is more standard. That's OK, I like it, it's like a cask ale served via hand pump and sparkler, but I wonder if it was supposed to be this way based on the looseness of the can as none of my other cans from them were so soft. Did I miss anything? No, I think I've got it covered. Obviously there was no lacing, which hurts it on appearance, but beyond that it was quite nice. The roastiness was kept in check, there wasn't any harsh dark malt acidity, and the alcohol never showed. It's a nicely balanced, full-flavored and fairly strong stout that satisfies the whole way through (I'm not done, but I'm assuming it will). I could go for more of this!

From the one pint can that is dated 04/24/2018. Sampled on August 4, 2018.
It pours black in color with a modest and lasting off-white or tan colored head. Some lacing. Looks like a stout to me!
The aroma expresses characteristics of roasted dark malts, char, semi-sweet chocolate, vanilla, and some earthy hops.
Medium body and creamy.
Same roasted dark malt sweetness in the taste with a bit of the previously mentioned char. It ends mild in its bitterness. It was a stout that was done properly.

Can from a Lazy Dog
Solid black color with a thin tan head, Licorice earth roast caramel and hints of chocolate and light dark dried fruit. Licorice and hop bitterness are dominant. Pretty nicely made stout.
