Having this one along with the EJ Bekot version from Kettlehead .... interesting to try this collaboration side-by-side with the alternate version.... (31DEC23)
Poured into a small sniftah, it's a deep, dark, nearly opaque chestnut-mahogany, with a little bit of ruby when back-lit. Has minimal tan foam up top, which mostly clings to the rim, with very light lacing. Nose has roasty notes, with dark choco and cocoa powder. Body is medium, with a decent, prickle-free feel on the tongue.
Taste has more cocoa powder, with charred notes, coffee, dark choco, some licorice and subtle sweetness. Has a bit of light, earthy hops in the dry finish. Not overly complex.... mostly a simple flavor profile, yet tasty still. Like this a bit better than the Kettlehead version. Cheers!
