From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on December 2, 2012.

It pours a cloudy, heady medium amber to orange. Way too much head but that might have been due to letting it warm up too much.

On the nose there is a pleasant earthy hoppiness that merges with the sweet caramel malts that are also upfront.

The body is medium and smooth.

Unlike the aroma, the taste is more caramel malt forward with a natural sweetness noted. The hops tend to mellow out and come up on the backside. The finish is slightly dry. I quite enjoyed this beer and being from New Hampshire I also like how they used local ingredients.

Pours a fairly clear deep amber color with a huge off white head that shows great retention but only spotty lace. Smells of sweet caramel malt with a grassy earthy hop aroma. There's a slight hit of licorice and a tinge of astringency in the nose as well. The flavor is sweet and malty like the nose promised. Grassy earthy hops try to provide some balance. There's a bit of astringency in the flavor as well. Medium body with a moderate to spirited level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. Talking to the brewer I discovered this is a wet hop ale and it smells and tastes like green vegetative matter. Certainly not the greatest beer they have put out, but kudos for the experimentation.
