Yesterday was to have been the ocCANsion of my Happy New Russo-Japanese-Vietnamese-Chinese CANned Beer Sunday, CANrades (Week 754) (добро пожаловать обратно в С новым русским-日本人-Tiếng Việt-中文 Пиво воскресное, товарищи (неделя 754), but I only have one Vietnamese CAN & the Chinese beers bogged down because of needing either/both adds & pics. 8={} I am now back on track, thanks in part to my local, in-person trader @tone77 .
From the CAN: "Hui Quan".
I got out my fave Pils/Lager glass for this one since I really had no idea as to its style. It was a mere 330-ml CAN so once the vent was Crack!ed open, I let it kind of free-flow since there was little ChANce of an overflow. I was a little surprised by the uprush of foam, but it settled in to become just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention, especially in the face of tonight's heat & humidity. Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a malty sweetness, but sans any adjunct presence, like corn. Hmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, just escaping being watery. The taste was really sweet, even for a malty Lager, but at least it was not burdened with adjuncts. It was quite malty, more sugary than I am used to, but still a decently-made Lager. Finish remained sweet & clean. For me, one was enough. I am going to submit a ChANge Request since it is NOT an AAL.
