22 oz. bottle, with Batch #647 printed on the label. Another new one to me from Pipeworks; probably the worst and most obnoxious name they've bestowed on any of their creations yet, however. 8.50% abv listed on the bottle. Strange bottle art. "Belgian Style Golden Ale". We'll see how this goes.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - It pours a nice crisp golden body with excellent clarity for an unfiltered beer. About a finger of soapy frothy white head that lingers to a fat ring and leaves behind some scattered fluffy lacing.

S - The aroma is fairly bland and one-dimensional. Crisp & bready with an almost pilsner malt sort of presence. Smells closest to "normal beer" or cheap adjunct lagers, than anything else Pipeworks has ever produced.

T - Oh wow. Blah. This is actually pretty awful, in my honest opinion. The aroma had me expecting some crisp bready pilsner malt presence, but the taste is basically just one big overwhelming wash of earthy clove spice. I struggle to reach for descriptors beyond that. Overwhelming clove is about all there is to this one. I beg you guys not to use this yeast again.

M - The feel is a bit smooth, creamy, & airy. Moderately bitter & dry on the end, but that doesn't save this one from the overwhelming nastiness of cloves. Leans toward the fuller side of medium bodied; semi-thick, with okay carb.

Overall, this is my 106th Pipeworks beer, and I can surely say this is the worst I've had from them so far. Can't say I would recommend this one at all, and it might be a bit of a chore to finish this bottle. I'm giving it the 3 for effort, and since Pipeworks will remain my favorite brewery, but in all seriousness, clean this shit up.
