22 ounce bottle into a PW snifter, batch #712.
Pours dark and opaque, medium head with dark tan foam that clings to the sides. Smell leads off with rye, then roasted malts and some chocolate. Got some citrusy hops on the first pour, not as much after. Taste is a little heavier on the roasted malts, the rye a little less than the nose. Very well blended. More chocolate, but, for me, the hops in the smell are hardly noticeable in the taste. Some bitterness on the back end. Has a creamy feel, smooth. Good body, well carbonated.
Very flavorful beer. The rye is prominent, but the base porter keeps it from being too bitter. The more I had the more I liked it. Well worth a try.

22 oz. bottle, Batch #712. Another new bomber to me from Pipeworks, this one their rye porter according to the label.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - Pours a dark dark cola brown, opaque in the glass with just a bit of cola brown showing near the surface. Just under two fingers of frothy dark mocha head. Lots of sticky scattered lacing left behind. Looks very nice.
S - A standard and characteristic aroma. Lots of spicy earthy rye and chocolate malt. Some herbal hop bitterness is noticeable.
T - Taste follows the nose: a simplistic, but trademark flavor for the style. Earthy, dirty rye malt, chocolate malts, and some herbal / bitter / piney hop content. Roasty, with some mild elements of char present.
M - The feel is soft, smooth, & creamy. Medium-bodied, very easy-drinking, and super smooth for the high 9.00% abv.
Overall, a very nice rye porter from Pipeworks. Very characteristic of the style. One of Pipeworks' more simple efforts in a while, but still very nicely executed. Perhaps a barrel aged version is in order.

It's a great looking beer. Dark and with a tall, spongy khaki head. Excellent retention.
Chocolate and piney. Roasted malt.
Chocolate and roast. Light coffee. Piney and spicey in the finish.
A bit thin with the mouthfeel, but smooth and drinks very light for 9%.
A no frills hopped up porter. Very good and drinkable.
