One of the better IIPAs from Pipeworks, IMHO, in that the spice gives some character to a malt bill that can come across as overly sweet and sticky, and often in conflict with the hops that are present. Plenty of citrusy hops, a dark orange hue with great head retention, spicey rye notes that move smoothly into pineapple, peach, orange peel.

22 ounce bottle, batch #756, into a Pipeworks snifter.
Pours a deep peach/apricot, hazy, with a small head and some cling. Good looking beer. Smell brings lots of citrusy hops at the pour- mango, pineapple, grapefruit, orange. Also pick up some malt and rye- more rye as it warms. Taste continues the big hop presence, but far more rye than the nose. Maintains bitterness throughout, with the malt being more complimentary to the hops than in a lot of PW's Double IPA's, where it pretty much balances. Good body, somewhat smooth, maybe a touch high on the carbonation.
I'm a big fan of rye and this didn't disappoint. Very flavorful and well blended, kind of a unique flavor. Really enjoyable effort, one I will buy again the next time.

Batch #756 tasted in a Teku glass from a 1 pint 6 fl oz bottle on July 30, 2015. Look is cloudy amber, smallish head, moderate lacing. Smell is citrus fruit up front, then mild rye spice. Taste is creamy citrus fruit and very subtle rye finish. Feels smooth, more sweet than bitter.

22 oz. bottle, Batch #756. A new DIPA creation from Pipeworks, this one a self-proclaimed Rye India Pale Ale.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - It pours a juicy golden sienna orange body. One finger of frothy cream head. Bubbly, with good sticky strands of lacing. Well carbonated. Very nice.
S - The aroma is fresh, fruity, & floral. Juicy piney / citrusy hops. Lots of stone fruits / grapefruit hop bitterness. A touch soapy. I'm not pulling out any rye on the aroma.
T - Taste is the same: fruity, juicy, bitter, & hoppy. Slightly piney, lots of grapefruit, orange, passion fruit, rind, & other stone fruits. Again, not really getting any distinct rye on this one. The hops override any malt billing. More fruity, juicy, & citrusy than anything else. Very delicious.
M - Feel is crisp, fruity, & juicy. Very citric / resinous / piney mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness, but again, nothing in the way of dirty rye malt. No alcohol fumes / warmth is noted. Very easy-drinking for the high abv.
Overall, another excellent DIPA from Pipeworks. Not heavy on the rye either, which is to my liking. Recommended.
