22 oz pour into a willybecher glass.
A: Steady pour did not yield more than a khaki film. body is a rich caramel brown color with a pretty hazy murky body.
S: lots of sweet doughy breads, caramel, toffee, light raisin and dates.
T: not much for taste some if the light dates and raisins some of the breadiness but more of a burnt residual sugar taste.
M: medium carbonation medium to almost watery feel.
O: This is an awful doppelbock with a huge ABV. The nose isn't bad but the follow through is garbage. Just a bad beer.

22 ounce bottle into a pilsner glass. Bottled 12/16/16, had 3/31/17.
Nice looking- a mostly opaque caramel and cola color, with a one and a half inch foamy head and lots of foamy lacing on an average pour. Smells of malt, caramel, yeast, bready-some pumpernickel, light black pepper in the head when warmed. A light vinegar note, early on. The taste is malt, caramel, some milk chocolate, light molasses. Bready. Smooth, creamy, refreshing- different, for a doppelbock, a solid medium to full body, well carbonated.
Excellent example of the style-their first doppelbock, I believe. Great flavor, very good aroma, the slightly lighter feel is not a negative. Another Pipeworks gem. Will definitely purchase again, if they make it.

Appearance - The beer poured a murky brown color with little visible carbonation.
Smell - The beer had a pleasantlt malty nose that leans a little sweeter than I might like.
Taste - At the front, sweet malts are evident amid the chewiness of the style. Molasses and brown sugar notes were present. The overall profile was not roasty enough to hit the notes on an elite doppelbock. The aftertaste ran sweet.
Mouthfeel - This was a full-bodied beer was the appropriate viscosity for the style.
Overall - The sweet chewy malts were present, but the beer lacked roastiness.

Deep brown in color, ample light brown head with good retention. Aroma is rich malts, raisin, dark fruit, caramel. Taste follows, with a rich malt presence, raisin, brown sugar, caramel. Bready. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation, and a smooth feel. Excellent doppelbock, may have to grab another couple while these are around.
