Hazy golden color with white head. Quite perfumey on the aroma with floral notes and unmalted grains in the background. Taste starts malty, slightly sweet, floral with a light bitterness on the finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours golden colour. A very nice carbonatation. Actually was very fun to drink, like a green tea (flavour from hemp seeds) with honey. With very subtle smokeyness feel. Good job!

22 ounce bottle into a stange glass. Bottled 11/9/16, had 11/25/16.
Pours a nice golden color, cloudy, with a one inch head and a good amount of foamy lacing. Active carbonation. Smells of yeast, malt, some oak. Has an earthy aroma, like plants- maybe from the hemp seeds? A light, sweet aroma kind of filters in and out. The taste also starts with the yeast and malt, more oak than the nose, some earthy hops, but no bitterness. The honey comes out here, as it warms. Smooth, a fairly creamy feel, a fuller body for the style, well carbonated.
This is not a style I normally seek out, but this is a really good Kolsch. The oak and honey are great additions, the fuller body doesn't interfere with the delicate nature of the style. Well worth a purchase the next time it comes around.

Hard pour results in three fingers of foam with a creamy surface texture. Some spotty lace hangs around the edges.
Slightly sweet oak in the aroma, lightly nutty malt, light yeast. It's pleasant but not super assertive.
Taste is a bit more oak forward, nutty hempseed, malt sweetness. Finishes clean, light to medium bodied and very smooth.
Pleasant easy drinker, the oaked German style echoes the influences of Freigeist and Local Option.
Rating #5900

I'm always on the lookout for new pipeworks so when I saw this I had to pick it up.
Poured into a large mug.
A: Poured a pretty golden orange with a fluffy three finger white head. Has a medium haze with some carbonation bubbling up.
S: Aromas are honey and malt sweetness, grain, toasted nuttiness and some woodiness from the oak.
T: Toasted nuttiness up front along with a nice honeyed malt sweetness. Some slight citrus as well. Finishes with a pleasant hint of smoke and oak.
P: The mouthfeel is medium-minus with a pleasant lingering sweetness. Crisp and easy drinking at 6%.
Overall this is another great brew from pdubs in a style that is different from their norm. Wish this wasn't only in bombers because I would crush a 4 pack of this.

22 oz. bottle, no bottled on date. Delivered to the local beer store fresh yesterday. "Kolsch brewed with Hemp seeds, and Mesquite Honey, fermented on oak". Sounds intriguing.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - Pours a crisp honeyed golden body, with one finger of frothy soapy white head that leaves excellent spotty lacing. Appears well carbonated. Looks very nice per the style.
S - Aroma is very fresh & pleasant: earthy & grainy, with hints of toasted nuttiness imparted from the hemp seeds, a touch of sweetness from the honey, and a smooth creaminess / woodsiness imparted from the oak. There is a touch of fresh floral hops / pine that accompanies the honey. Very inviting.
T - Taste follows the nose: sweetened, juicy, fruity, & nutty. Initial flavors of grapes, with some roasty nuttiness imparted from the hemp seeds, along with a very pleasant touch of authentic honeyed sweetness. These ingredients complement one another wonderfully. These is a slight touch of citrus / acidic tasting fruit that accompanies the grape / hop flavors near the forefront, sorta like lemon. The honey becomes more pronounced as the beer warms a touch. Absolutely lovely.
M - Feel is exceptionally smooth, crisp, & creamy. Medium-light, and very very easy-drinking stuff, with a modest 6.00% abv, a bit unusual of Pipeworks. Fresh-tasting and quenching. Residual flavors of citric tartness, grain, & yeast in the finish.
Overall, one of the most interesting and complex beers that Pipeworks has put out in a while, with a list of ingredients that work wonderfully well together. Glad to see them tackle a lighter and less popular style also ---this is probably one of the best kolsches I've had in a long time.. Well done, guys.
Pipeworks The Long Hair Affair -----4/5.
