A Mexican Rye Lager. would have liked to class it as a lager, but the only applicable choices were all "light" lagers and this isn't.

found a bottle of thus dojo exclusive at my local Trader Joe's. I really enjoyed this beer & winder if some of the other reviews aren't rating to style? this is as advertised a crushable Mexican style lager & at under $5 for a bomber priced appropriately

Thanks to ______ for this 22 oz. bottle; split with my wife. I like this fine trader, but have redacted his name to protect the innocent.

I’m going to cut to the chase: Rye Caramba! is awful. I love rye & love good lagers, but I’ve never had the two mixed up like this, & it doesn’t work. The lager yeast & spicy rye seem to be tearing one another’s hamstrings. Blech.

I took five or six sips before heading for the bathroom sink; my wife beat me there by four or five. Undrinkable.

I had this beer on tap at Dukes ale house and kitchen in crystal lake, IL. It poured a clear yellow with no head and no lace. The scent was blah. The taste was nicely balanced and easy but no real notable flavors. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it was just ok.

Golden color, extremely clear. Two fingers of bright white head with moderate retention. Very nice lager aroma. Bready, doughy, noble hop aroma. Definitely get a strong dose of the spicy rye aroma as well. Taste is clean, and follows the aroma exactly. Again, the rye has a nice presence to add some complexity to the beer. Light body, moderate carbonation, slightly dry finish. An excellent lager with a great spicy complexity from the rye. Well done PDubs!

Pours a partially cloudy matte golden color. Thin white head dissipates quickly leaving no residual head whatsoever. No lacing is left behind either.

Aroma is pretty subdued. Some general bread notes with slight floral hops. Touch of spice from the rye, but otherwise a pretty generic lager aroma.

Taste is initially pretty ready with a slight hint of spice. The rye doesn't overtake the beer but rather adds some nice complexity to an otherwise simple lager profile. Some mild sweetness is noted with bread malts and some light floral hops. Touch of spicy bitterness on the finish.

Feel is light smooth and easy drinking. Moderately carbonated.

Overall this is a really well crafted lager - I want to emphasize this is a lager brewed with rye - not a rye beer. That being said the rye malt bill adds some great complexity to the flavor profile of this beer. Very impressed with this offering from Pipeworks.
