22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 1/11/20.
Pours a darker amber, semi opaque, with no head and no lacing. Aromas of rye whiskey, bitters, tobacco, caramel, vanilla, malt, light cherries, a little citrus. Similar flavors- rye whiskey, malt, caramel, bitters, oak, some vanilla, light tobacco, light lemon peel. Smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.
Excellent. Strong barrels, the bitters are out front and take a lead role more then usual. Of the four variants that were released, this was probably my least favorite, but it was very enjoyable.

Pours a dirty brown color. Opaque with a thin tan head. Head dissipates steadily leaving no residual head. Aroma is very aromatic and fragrant - notes of orange, tart cherry, oak, bourbon, rye, and some roasted malts all come through on the nose. Taste follows the nose with some light tart cherry and orange notes, a hint of brown sugar, and a nice spicy rye finish. Feel is medium to full bodied for the style. Mild carbonation. Overall a unique and outstanding beer from Pipeworks - if you like manhattans, this is a must try.
