22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 10/12/19.
Pours a dark amber, semi opaque, with a brief, short head and scant, spotty lacing. Aromas of bourbon, vermouth, malt, bitters, tobacco, light toffee and cherries, lemon peel when fully warmed. Flavors of bourbon, vermouth, malt, bitters, light oak, some char, some caramel and tobacco, some lemon peel, light cherries. Smooth, a good full body, well carbonated.
The vermouth shows well and really adds a unique twist. More than any of the variants or releases, this one really nails the Manhattan. Overall, it’s as good as the Willett barrel variant. Delicious.
