22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Had 12/22/18. Pipeworks had recalled it by then, but I had no problems whatsoever with this bottle.

Pours a mostly opaque dark amber, with a half inch foamy head and some slick, soapy lacing. Aromas of brandy, malt, dates, raisins, grapes, light cherries, some plums, figs, some oak. A bit of a sweet aroma as it warms. The flavor is somewhat barrel forward, with a good blast of brandy to start, then plums, grapes, dates, malt, figs, some raisins and brown sugar, light toffee and oak. Smooth, a solid medium to full body, well carbonated.

The brandy barrels are incredible, and it’s a nice blend of lighter and darker fruit aromas and flavors. Really enjoyable.

I had all 3 variants of this over the weekend, and this one seemed fine (unlike the other 2, which had soured).

This has just been recalled by Pipeworks for possible quality control issues, but my bottle was still exceptional, no off flavors whatsoever. Great apple brandy aroma on the nose, with hot, boozy complexity on the palate. Definitely strong and one that I would normally age for a while, but the brandy barrels really add a lot.

Released 8/17/18; drank 8/23/18 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque brown/orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small, noisy tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.

Brandy, caramel & oak notes in the nose.

Flat, thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Brandy & oak flavors up front; caramel & bourbon notes on the finish. As this warmed, oak & booze emerged as the dominant notes.

Boozy, sticky & borderline cloying; however, it's substantial & overall enjoyable. Maybe aging will help?!
