Aroma is piney /spicy hops, malts and a big hint of syrup/honey. The flavor is fruit/mild citrus, malts/grains and a piney/spicy/bitter hop/slight candy sweet finish.

I can't refuse a blowout price on something less than a month old, so let's see how it finishes.
With a few minutes in the glass. The head has receded to ringing the glass, and a few faint whisps of cloud coverage up top. Very slight lacing, and plenty of fine sediment. Would guess a Citra / mosaic pairing for the hops with what I'm picking up from the aroma, which isn't necessarily jumping out. Slight yeast. Not really picking up barrel. Which I would guess is from a short soak. I got really prominent apricot as I tipped the glass, which for this review is an Ayinger printed Rastal .3l from Jonathon Cutlers (r.i.p.) collection. Drinking it, there's definite barrel wood going on, with more of an apricot to slightly soured orange, or tangerine kind of impression and a lingering in the mouth aftertaste.
It's a beer that you serve with food kind of beer. Maybe like a blue cheese on a burger with some arugula as its green stuff as the contrast.

Canned 11/14/22; drank 11/27/22 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big white head; frothy lace.
Grapefruit, mild oak & faint orange soda notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Tangy grapefruit, dry oak & orange soda flavors.
Abrasive, clashing notes here; an argument against the modern American IPA.

16oz can
PKG 10/15/21
L: hazy tangerine color; fluffy off-white head
S: juicy, citrus, light caramel, faint oak
T: oak comes through more & mellows out the flavors; tangerine, orange, grapefruit, pine, mango, light caramel, white grape all meld together wonderfully
F: fuller body, zesty and resinous, moderate carbonation, modestly bitter finish with enough residual sweetness to keep it balanced; oak smooths it out
O: exceptional oak aged DIPA with loads of flavor and complexity!

to proud of their beer, was 18 bucks for 4. i have had other pipe works brews, and this has flavor but is FAR from demanding such a high price. Doubt that there will be a great request to make more. For Pipeworks..... they make much better.

Bit different for an Imperial IPA. Not my first IPA that received the oak treatment either. Says fermented on oak but no aging past fermentation. The hops are nice and bright with notes of citrus and a bit of what I would describe as orange meringue. A bit of the oak coming into play? Not much from oak in the flavor but it does seem to mellow out the hops. Still quite bitter. Looks excellent and has a very good body with proper carbonation.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on January 20, 2019. Imperial IPA fermented on Oak. Bright citrus peel notes balanced by warm vanilla notes from oak.

Pours a clear golden color with a fresh white head. Smell has house malts with some floral and garden hops. Taste follows nose very floral with citrus and some berry dank hops, some mild spiral wood mixed a sweet caramel malt finish. Mouth feel is floral with some nice bitterness in finish.
