Oat ale with green tea, lactose, vanilla, and rice. This beer is inspired by the Japanese squishy, round mounds of joy - green tea mochi! We love mochi and wanted to brew a beer that captured it's flavor! We brewed this creamy, smooth oat ale with vanilla, rice, lactose and loose leaf gunpowder green tea. It's a slightly sweet, yet balanced treat with delicate green tea flavor.

16oz can
Heavy on the grain; oat I guess. All the marketing and added ingredients leave me mostly unimpressed. It's about halfway to the flavor it wants... It Veerrry slightly tastes like a green Japanese dessert bun, but mostly it is like a very tasty malt liquor with adjuncts. Drainpoured most of the last can, I've just had enough of this one. But, bonus points for executing on such a unique beer concept

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 8/12/20, had 9/9/20.
Pours a hazy, bright, pale yellow, with a two inch foamy head with good retention and lots of foamy lacing. Aromas of yeast, malt, some vanilla, some green tea, lactose as it warms, some grain, a light rice- like aroma if I’m not being impressionable. Flavors of green tea, vanilla, malt, grain, some lactose. Smooth, a little creamy, a good lighter body, well carbonated.
Never had mochi, so can’t compare, but this is good. The green tea, vanilla and lactose make a nice combination. This reminds me of the old days when Pipeworks was making a lot of unique offerings. Enjoyable.
