Collaboration with Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits. Key Lime Pie Beer with key limes, cinnamon, oats, lactose, and pinch of salt.
We collaborated with Chicago legends at Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits!!!
(Apologies, we're just a litttle excited over here). The folks at Bang Bang have been slicing up some of the all-time best key lime pie out there. It was a dream realized to be able to work with them to create this Key Lime Pie...The Beer!
Together we brewed a super refreshing, tangy, slightly tart and creamy beer with fresh key limes and a touch of cinnamon. Just like the pie, when all the ingredients are combined together it's straight up summer magic.

Appearance - The beer poured a dark golden color with a bubbly white head crowning the glass.
Smell - The nose was tamer than I would have anticipated. It had a light lime notes, otherwise just smelling like a beer.
Taste - The lime notes starts soft at the beginning, but seem to grow more intense. The profile is creamy, creating the impression of key lime pie. There were hints of spice and even a bit of breadiness. By the aftertaste, the lime was faded and the illusion of key lime pie is gone.
Mouthfeel - Murky and creamy, there was lactose put in this beer! Carbonation was surprisingly active.
Overall - The only other beer that has impressed me similarly is Shorts Key Lime Pie.
