16 ounce can into a snifter. A 2021 release, had 1/14/22.

Pours a mostly opaque dark brown, with no head and no lacing. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, malt, chocolate, raisins, light leather. The flavors follow the nose- bourbon, vanilla, malt, chocolate, oak, raisins, light leather. Smooth, a very good fuller body, appropriately carbonated on the low side.

A solid effort. The base cuvee is great and the barrels are excellent, the add- ins don’t really show all that well- vanilla being the showiest.

Slate black body, tan cap. Bourbon backed baker's chocolate, caramel, dark fruit especially raisin, vanilla, and oak in the nose. Taste has more of the barley and roast elements now supporting, which helps with the enhanced sweetness, finish has a hint of licorice to it, barrel are strong through out. Feel has the barrel character that is simultaneously rugged and smooth, oak is felt more than taste or smelled, lactose and malts smoothen out the sip quickly, good warmth. My least favorite of the three, but still really good

Binnys is very active in the collab community. They do whiskey barrel selections with reputable distilleries and also team up with some breweries to release specialty beers. They have had success in the past, notably the Liberty Sandwich with 4Hands Brewing. This most recent collab was with local brewery @Pipeworks with a lineup of three barrel aged beers. We picked up two of the three.

No. 3 = This one is a blend of barleywine and stout. It is sweet, tangy, and savory. The barleywine definitely outshines the stout in the mix. The roasted stout does help hold the overall sweetness of the barleywine. Rating: 84

16oz can poured into a tulip shows an inky black, opaque, headless body and leaves no lacing. Ordinarily not so great qualities, but with barrel aging and blending, I don't expect either.

Aroma is an exciting melange of caramel, vanilla, cocoa, oak, molasses, and fresh air and the taste is a match.
I don't want it to end. Just enough booze warmth to remind me to slow down and enjoy.

Mouthfeel is full, creamy, and a little slick, but it finishes clean.

Overall the clear winner of the three for me and a great example of how to blend and age beer.

Pours a thick'n chewy very dark brown, not a speck'a light gets through it, didn't even see a bubble on an aggressive pour. Snot locker gets the cocoa, vanilla and a hint of bourbon as soon as the can opened. Taste buds get all that too. Smooth and creamy, zero carbonation. Overall, I loved it but it's just too sweet.

2021 vintage; drank 12/20/21 @ the Yarchves.

Black/brown appearance.

A violent pour yielded a small, noisy tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.

Caramel, oak, toffee, bourbon & oak notes in the nose.

Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.

STRONG bourbon heat, oak & toffee flavors.

Way too boozy; this almost was like a shot of bourbon. It's ultimately drinkable, but this was the worst of the three by a wide margin.
