The Abominable Snowman goes by many names... but The Unicorn knows him as "foe." This chilly, wintery season...tensions are heating up as The Unicorn faces off against a new formidable opponent...
The Abominable Snowman!
Lofty Cryo hop aromas of candied orange, winter pine, and fresh honeydew melon burst out from these soft and hazy suds that are smoothed out with a touch of lactose.

Copenhagen 1/2 2026. 47,3 cl can from DrikBeer webshop. Light ble arctic can with a cartoonish drawing of the two contestants from the name of the beer.
Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden tallow with a small white head. Stable. Settles as thin patches of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet odor of ripe stone fruit barely hiding a fermented undertone. Citrus fruit peeking in. Mango and peach. Grapefruit and lemon.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, a bit viscous, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter- Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Nice citric brew. I hope the Snowman wins.

Pours a very hazed gold with a thumb+ of eggshell colored head. pretty good head retention & very good lacing
S: Plenty of citrus, breadyness, some grassy notes. Green melon once warmed up, fades a little once warm
T: Tangerine, dryness, green melon, nectarine notes up front. Some Cryo-hops dryness mixes in with lime, oranges, grassiness, white grapes & cantaloupe once this beer is warmed up, a touch of vanilla too. Finishes with orange, lime, a little vanilla, lemongrass & dryness, some pineapple too
MF: Medium body, dialed back carbonation, good balance, a touch of acidity late
Fun take one the style, will by this again if it rotates back here. Great drinkability

Super hazy golden orange body, velvety off-white head that leaves thick lacing.
Smells uncannily like freshly squeezed orange juice. YUM. There's also pineapple. That's it, but that's enough.
It tastes like orange juice too! Super super juicy, not at all sour but below 7 pH. Off-dry finish, altho there isn't that candy lactose sweetness that I look for in lactose beers. A small disappointment, but it's so dang juicy, I'll be OK. I like that the malts are out of the picture; I'm sure they're present and detectable by more refined palates, but I don't like that in my juicy beers, so I'm good. Just gimme da juice. Juice. Juice.
The body is medium weight, very fluid and refreshing.
A very very good beer, altho my sweet tooth is still aching for the promises on the label. Loooove me that sweetness like the milk after all the froot loops have been eaten. But it was juicy juicy juice juicy, and respectable undetectable ABV, this well upholds the reputation of the Unicorn Vs lineage.

L: hazed tangerine colored body; thick & foamy off-white head holds great retention
S: grapefruit, tangerine, caramel, sweet lactose, pine
T: sweet & tart, clementine orange, grapefruit, tangerine, pine, lactose, light caramel
F: fuller side of medium for body, ample carbonation, bittersweet finish
O: a nice addition to the vs Unicorn series

Look: hazy amber, head fades quickly, leaving light lacing
Smell: melon, grassy, berry, floral
Taste: surprisingly sweet with a more dry and fizzy finish than might be expected. Melon, cantaloupe, with a nice sharp finish.
Overall: I am a huge Pipeworks fan. My Trader Joe's has a rotating stock of their regular releases as well as the newer/occasional offerings. This is a fine hazy ipa and, if it were produced by anyone else, I would be surprised by it's sweetness with balanced hop bite. But, for Pipeworks, this one seems less stellar than many of their other beers. Seems too sweet--interesting but there are other Pipeworks ipa's that worked better for me.

Pored a golden straw color with a white 1 finger fresh head, Smmell is fruity with hops Taste has citrus, melon, passion fruit and grapefruit. Mouth feel is soft sweet and fruity some pine and dankness but more sweet on the finish. Always like Pipeworks brews.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of citrus, floral notes, sweet toffee and toasted caramel. Sweet tropical fruitiness with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.
