Imperial Stout with Cherries, Pretzels, Vanilla & Cacao.
Love chocolate covered cherries? Love cherries and chocolate? We GOT. YA. COVERED! Cherry Got Ya Covered brings all the chocolate covered pretzel and cherry flavor. How? Because we brewed this beer with pounds and pounds of real Snyder's pretzels in the mash. The pretzels come through bringing a nice subtle salty flavor to the chocolate and cherries.

Pours an effervescent cola/mahogany color with 2 fingers of mocha colored head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Cocoa, nose is lacking
T: Cherry, salt, cocoa, a little tartness & vanilla upfront. Dryness, tartness, a little sweeter chocolate & cherry as this warms, plus a touch of salt. Finishes tart, a little dry with dark chocolate & cherry
MF: Medium body, pretty firm carbonation, slight acidic feel. Carbonation tones down as this warms up
Nice flavor, but the sum of its parts fails this beer a bit

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Pours a deep obsidian topped by a finger or so of brownie foam. The nose comprises sharp roast, molasses, mild black cherry, and the lightest possible kiss of cocoa powder. The taste brings in more of the same, the roast, chocolate, and an umami-esque character that I assume is supposed to be the pretzel (thoroughly toasted, nigh-on burnt) up front, a bit of surprisingly mild black cherry coming in around the end of the middle through the finish (by which point it just misses becoming medicinal). The body is a hefty medium, with a rather light moderate carbonation and a slightly chewy feel. Not all that bad a stout, but I'm nt sure it comes together entirely. Worth a go, though.
