Ale with Grapefruit and Lime
An ode to the classic daiquiri cocktail in beer form! Fresh grapefruit takes the lead while zesty lime plays best supporting actor in this summertime crusher. One Longer Day is the kind of beverage that makes you wish you had.... well.... One Longer Day.

16 fl oz. can, canned on 06/23/2022.. nine months in the can, I caught this 4pk on sale at the local Sal's Beverage World. Surprised to see that this beer hasn't been reviewed or rated once since being added to BeerAdvocate, but I digress, I'll have to do it. Can doesn't really say much aside from BEER - 1 PINT "Ale with Grapefruit and Lime". "Daiquiri Inspired".
Poured to a Central Waters snifter.
A: Pours a crispish golden body; not too unlike an IPA in stature, though the body is a bit more pale, and the head is a finger's worth of white fizziness, retention not so great, falls to a surface skimming.
S: Aromas of freshly squeezed lime, citrus rinds / zest / tartness. It's listed as and American Pale Ale here, but I think this might be more of a Gose style ale? Authentic bitter grapefruit is noticeable in there also when you look for it. It's actually a pretty nice & authentic smelling beer.
T: Taste goes along with my initial impressions, this one definitely tastes like more of a gose style than anything. Gives off a sort of salty kind of vibe to it, though I doubt there is actually any salt involved here, merely the bitter flavors of the grapefruit & lime zest. Again, super authentic flavors. Lovingly tart / borderline sour flavors, and a quick wash of light breadiness. Minor hints of coiny metallics on the finish.
F: Feel is smooth, crisp, easy-drinking. Authentic citrus rind bitterness, dry on the finish, semi-quenching, and drinkable for the moderate 6.30% abv.
Overall, Pipeworks has always put out these low key sleeper fruit beers, and this one was no exception. Definitely glad I snagged this final 4pk from the local store.
