i have liked other beers from these guys a whole lot, so i was excited to see this one on tap, but man, it really let me down. it was light bodied but still somehow filling, seemingly under flavored, residually sweet, and frankly a pretty average example of the style from a brewery that has really excelled with the hoppy stuff. light brown, almost amber in the glass, with fine carbonation. it smells and tastes like a dunkel, malt driven obviously, but there really isnt much to it. a hint of chocolate malt is seems gives it a little brown ale feel, the fact that its a lager would come as a surprise if i didnt know it was when i ordered it. it never crisps up or dries out like it should, and the leftover sugar seems out of place in the style. i like these guys a lot, but this was a lackluster performance. id be curious to hear what others think, although there arent any other reviews for this one...

Nice bronze to medium brown color. Not much smell, but has a nice crisp finish to the taste. Paired well with home made nachos.
