Alewife and I stopped into The Crop on 20AUG15 for a few rounds. Was checking out their bier fridge and a waiter was really enthusiastic about this one. Opted to get a 22oz bottle to go, for $6.50. Digging into it now out in The 'Zebo.
Pours a cloudy, muted golden color. Carbo is plentiful but fine and slow going. Head is marshmallow white, thin and fine, mostly gathering at the rim. Not much lacing, though. Aroma has a touch of bubblegum action with some tropical fruit. Body is a good medium, and it feels quite smooth over the tongue.
Flavor has some pleasing, crackery malt sweetness at the start. Then I get some fruity notes, with a mix of green apple, pear, a bit of melon, along with another hint of bubblegum. There's also a suggestion of spicy yeast in the dry finish. Though not a world-class tripel, this one is quite well made, tasty and satisfying. Prosit! !

Fruity, Bready, Herbal, Yeast
Right from the first sip this brew talks the right speak, phenols right out of gate and super fruity with a sturdy foundation of bready malt. Just enough warmth to let us know it is a strong brew. A little in the raw with the hazed out hue and a bit of yeast though none of that really hinders this brew’s goal of being a Tripel.
STYLE: Tripel | ABV: 9.0% | AVAILABILITY: Year-round
