Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a murky squeezed pineapple to orange juice color. A finger’s worth of white foamy head sits atop of the beer and evenly dissipates leaving no lacing. The aroma seems to distribute well between the Calypso hops to the pineapple juice. Sweetness of the lactose even blends well allowing some bitter to sweet lemon rind-like hops to hit nicely. Subtle grassiness. Lactose is far underneath. The flavor smoothly blends the previously mentioned aromas to the sweet creamy lactose. Aftertaste leans to sweet pineapple and blends the bitterness from the hops. Quick dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation feels good. Bitterness is there but does present itself well between the lactose smoothing it all out well. Overall, so much sweet pineapple juice with the likings of an AIPA. Very good hybrid of "modern/new IPA" to fruit beer.

Pours a cloudy maize color. 1/5 inch head of an off-white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of bacterial funk, citrus, yeast, slight hop, earthy malt, resin, and piney hops. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is clean and sharp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of bacterial funk, pineapple, yeast, hops, slight earthy malt, resin, and a hint of pine. Overall, I couldn't discern the lactose/oats, but the pineapple and hops blended well together. The complexity was decent, but the appearance was lacking.

Pours out totally turbid/murky/hazy bright yellow.
Aroma is all pineapple, with a hint of sweetness, slight grassy hope note too.
Taste is like pure pineapple juice, fresh pineapple skin, slight sweetness, bit of grassy/floral hop element too.
Medium bodied, pronounced bitterness, kinda crisp.
Overall, this beer COULD be amazing. It needs less bitterness, more sweetness and a fuller/creamier mouthfeel.

16.9 oz. bottle
Pours cloudy opaque dark gold with a frothy white foam head and lots of floating chunks. Smells like tart pineapples, lime, apple, pear, creamy lactose, mild vanilla, with dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like tart acidic pineapple, lime, apple, pear, lactose, mild vanilla, with spicy dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice pineapple milkshake ale.

Interesting and unusual beer. It's a very thick, yellow-orange, milky complexion. Lots of yeast in the bottle and in suspension in the glass. Medium-to-small head. The aroma is all pineapple....like pineapple juice more than beer. Sweet and fruity taste....not as acidic as expected, but it still has a lot of pineapple flavor. So much pineapple, in fact, that it is difficult to note the beer qualities. Full in body, and the finish does have a hop bitterness. Interesting, but not really outstanding.
