This genre defying hop forward ale defies easy categorization with its expressive yeast esters of peach, pink bubblegum and apricots. The hop aroma comes across as a bouquet of herbal pine and citrus resulting in a deceptively smooth drinking experience. For simplicity's sake, lets just call it a double IPA.

these hazy ipas for the heck of it dont really move me much, but i like the hop profile here a lot, and think its well enough built, just a couple of fairly obvious (to me at least) tweaks away from being a whole lot better than it is. not overly lively from the tap at the brewery, really thick, even for what it is, light orange and very cloudy. aroma here is great, the hops are killer, citrus and tropical fruits, passion fruit and orange or even something a little more piquant like a kumquat, and they are like that in the flavor too, just a little bit of pine and bitter to finish it, very juicy and dry hoppy and nicely proportioned for all the grain, which brings me to all the grain. its nicely thick and frothy, with some oats and wheat both likely here, still pale and dry, but flavorful and kind of starchy like potato or pasta water. i like all the body it adds, and dont have a problem with its heft, aside from how unrefined it seems, sloppy almost, and it doesnt flatter the hops the way it could if it were cleaned up just a bit. there is also a bit more of a residual yeast in suspension thing here than i like, like its not done actively fermenting, and i that is unflattering in a cloudy ipa, cloudy from yeast compared to cloudy from grain, and while this is both, the yeast part seems unnecessary. pleasant flavor profile but a little messy.
