Orchard Reflection is the culmination of several months of hard work: We started with a few hundred pounds of stone fruit (including nectarcots, peaches, and apricots) from our friends at Collins Family Orchards. We then fermented this ale on top of them with our house yeast culture in our oak foeder for 2 months before bottle conditioning for an additional 2 months. The result? Something tart, fruity and delicious.

a very tasty fruited sour here, peaches leading the charge in the second of two orchard reflection beers so far. the fruit tastes incredible natural and fresh in this cloudy, dense, orange looking brew, relatively still form the tap but with an incredible aroma of overripe peaches, juicy and sweet and sunny and summery, and with the fuzzy fleshy apricots right in there too. i dont know much about nectarcots, but i assume its a nectarine crossed with an apricot, whatever it is, its nice in here with the other fruits. shocking this is mostly second use fruit from the first orchard reflection beer, it still ha a lot to give. this one is a little less woody and a little more sour than the first beer in the series, white wine and bacterial sourness, acetic and sharp, but never breaking down the juicy fruit. i love how natural it all tastes, none of that candy peach flavor, and sweet as can be, but then dried up in the finish by these funky yeasts. a really cool beer, layered fresh fruit and a champagne vibe despite only moderate carbonation. i think i actually liked the first one better, but this is excellent stuff and a great use of this local fruit!
