Served in shaker pint glass. Poured an attractive pink-brown color with just a thin cap of just off-white head that had no retention or lace.

The aroma featured a nice fruit scent and some light grain.

The flavors also had fruit up front, alongside a nice tartness.

The body was light-medium, with a dry, tart finish.

Drinkability was pretty good. Overall, a pretty nice brew, one I'll grab again. Worth trying if you see it.

The body of this beer is a murky shade of red that's like if you put in firetruck red and then slid the shader to the dark/grey corner on paint, but might be appealing as a shade of lipstick. Held up to the light it almost takes on a darker version of marschino Head is large and fizzy and dissipates rather quickly. Colour is like an off-white rose.

Initially the aroma gave a pleasant sweet (not cherry syrup, more sour cherry preserves) cherry tartness with a funky earthy center to it, and maybe even a hint of canned plums, but suddenly I get this overwhelming ammonia character that makes me feel like I'm poisoning myself with cleaning products. It literally feels like it is burning my nostrils. If not for that one characteristic this would probably be a 4.

Thankfully, the ammonia is not found on the tongue. Tart and lightly sweet cherries are the driving force here. I mean really, sour cherries. That's what we're looking at here. And it does it really well.

Finish is tart, carbonation is effervescent and compliments the tart cherries well.

This is a tough one to rate. I don't know if what I'm describing as ammonia is something intentional that people are into and I just don't get it (like REALLY don't get it), or if it's something weird with my bottle or my nose at the moment or maybe my roommate is trying to poison me with something on my glass or what, but it is a really off putting characteristic. I drank the bottle by just not breathing in through my nose, and was able to enjoy the rest of what the beer had to offer, but to completely ignore an entire aspect of the beer because it's offputting isn't entirely fair either.
If I didn't feel like I was burning my nostrils and brain cells when I breathed around it, this would be solidly in the 4 range if one is looking for sour cherries. But I can't just ignore something that was such a striking aspect of the experience. It's too bad, too, because the rest of the brew really is quite good.
(I ran it with roughly what I would have rated it without the off putting aspect and it would come out to a 4.09)
