Look - Black and thick with a nice tan head and great rimming and lacing, saw slugs come out so thats a bad first look though
Smell and taste - lots of rye spice and wood with chocolate and vanilla. Taste very traditional and got better as it warmed up. The worst part though was when I got slugs that I wasn't able to get out, ruined those drinks.
Feel - Full body with a light carb which was nice but the slugs makes the feel not optimal
Overall - dissapointed with the slugs. Didn't expect

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with not signs of carbonation except a few bubbles, then a dark khaki head slowly develops into a quarter finger head with great retention and nice good lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, whisky, vanilla and hints of cocoa; boozy. Flavor is dark toasted malt, rye whisky, vanilla, milk chocolate, molasses, licorice and a touch of oak in the finish. Medium bodied with silky moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. An exceptional barreled stout. The rye whiskey is excellent with great rye character. Vanilla is subdued, but a clear note, as I like it. Some good chocolate in the malt. Rye is the dominant flavor, but overall, nicely balanced. Urban Family's portfolio has had a lot of styles I'm not that into, like wild ales and hazy IPAs, so they've been off my radar for a while. After two really nicely barreled stouts for Bottleworks (the other was a Port barreled one), I'll be paying more attention. Weird pour, but a great flavor/aroma payoff. Nicely done.
