a collaboration with a whole bunch of the ballard breweries and the pink boots society, super cool so many people involved, and the beer is cohesive too, no sign of too many cooks in the kitchen despite the huge list of participants. weird we still dont have a haze pale category here on BA, which is what this is, closer to a new england ipa than an american pale though, no doubt about it, lets correct that. anyway the beer is awesome, the hops instantly, front of tongue and all senses at once, got to be phantasm in the mix, at least cryo, the way this just blasts off right from the first snoot. its juicy as can be, yellow peach, ripe pineapple, cantaloupe, mango, and sweet orange, amazing tropical notes and high summer vibes, like this could almost be an umbrella drink. the grain is light, i get the pale part here, and its dry enough to be out of the way of the hops but not invisible. refined for a hazy and for its look, impressively delicate and the high carbonation makes it feel airy like drinking a cloud. no greenness or bite at all for how banging the hops are, either epic ingredients or a product of the accumulated knowledge of all these breweries, likely both! hints of lime leaf and coconut and generic citrus at the end, this is super distinctive in terms of hops. id love to know more details about how this was made, but the collaboration and the mission are is cool as the beer. really one of the better hazy types i have had in awhile. awesome!
