Medium amount of creamy tan head. Really dark chocolate brown appearance. Yummy, dark roasted grains, espresso and a toffee tinge, for the aroma. Quite firm flavors of deeply roasted grains and a hint of both dark roasted barley malt and toffee, for the taste. Medium bodied with an edge, from the dark roasted malt.

Excellent drinking mid-range (ABV) stout. Clean, not too sweet. Even a bit of hop at the back end. Smooth as silk with a bit of char as a finish. I’d have it again, without any arm twist!

Dark brown with ample beige foam in the Brigand chalice. Pleasant cereal aroma with herbal hops. Smooth and lively on the tongue. Some charred grain taste but the touch of sweet malt is a pleasure. Moderately hoppy with a bitter aftertaste that leaves you wanting another sip. This is a workmanlike dark brew that is highly drinkable. A Thanksgiving evening brew for the quiet hour. From the 16 oz can purchased from Town & Country market in Shoreline. Dated 10/04/23.
