Tap at the brewpub yesterday, and rudzud claimed this was a huge whisky and coffee bomb last time he had it. Def a lot more muted now, but come to find out it's the same barrel 3 months or so later. Need to retry this next time I'm there.

Nice dark creamy frothy smaller head, fades slowly nice rich lacing long legs, pitch black beer

Nose is nice, big roasty black malts, tons of fluffy cocoa and dark choc, touch nougat fluffy and some caramel, mild booze aroma mixed with a nice big whisky note, bit of roasted coffee as well, mild malted milk ball.

Taste brings nice malts, fluffy heavy decent malt base, malted milk ball, nice dark choc and creamy cocoa, touch fluffy nougat, nice dark roasty note and like fresh coffee juice and little whisky notes, decent bitter spicy chewy hops, nice coffee, little whisky. Finish is drier, hint if booze, nice dark choc and coffee, little whisky booze, fair bitterness, nice long cocoa.

Mouth is heavier bod but not super big, nice creamy feel, decent carb, bit of booze.

Overall not bad, quite a nice base beer, whisky and barrel is just too muted.

Enjoyed at the High Horse. This is The business aged for four months in bulleit rye whiskey barrels.

A - Poured into a standard pint glass a nice dark black hue with a good half finger mocha head that fades to leave a thin blanket. Not much lacing though.

S - Aromas of chocolate, dark and bakers, faint vanilla, light roast and big rye whiskey on the nose.

T - Taste is smooth dark chocolate, creamy vanilla, light barrel, smooth rye whiskey. Very balanced between the chocolate and the barrel. Rye never really takes over, instead it is story harmonious with the chocolate and barrel notes. Also...9.5%, yeah right. Zero alcohol at all. Impressive.

M - Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, alcohol is non-existent. Wow.

O - Overall okay, I'm won over. This is a delicious beer. Could drink it all day.
