a neat collaboration with a local winery out there, a blonde ale spiked with riesling grapes, super delicate and drinkable, not all the way dialed in, but creative and good. its been awhile since i have seen anything new from these guys. the beer is real light in color with excellent clarity and some visible carbonation but not much head accumulating. sweet grapes on the nose right away, more white grape juicy than winey, with soft notes of pineapple and juniper in there, herbaceous and fresh. the yeast is almost saison-esque to me, sort of bready and pulling some neat flavors from the grain, and with just a little tart pep at the end, not sour at all, but interesting for a blonde. lots of sweet fruit in the taste, a little more sweet than it needs to be, but you sure taste the grape. some golden raisin too, maybe lemongrass, champagne elements now coming out, floral and fancy tasting, not much malt though. i like the beer, but it needs more carbonation to work all the way. its not flat, but its in need of some more life, especially when it gets champagne tasting later on. cool effort, they should dial this in and bottle it up! its good to see them making new flavors again, its been too long!
