During hop harvest, we visit the Billygoat Hop Farm in Montrose, CO, to pick fresh hops. Getting the hops from the bine to the brew as quickly as possible allows the hop to be presented in its most unadulterated form and its freshest flavor.

Rather cloudy, dirty orange body; sediment dancing around; one-finger thick head, dense and creamy texture. Pleasant smell; herbal with a bit of floral quality; mild cereal grain scent. Okay taste; dull, slightly oxidized citrus flavor; moderate hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; mildly abrasive on the palate; a bit juicy in character.
Granted, this fresh hop beer is over seven months old, so I'm sure the smell and taste have waned quite a bit. I'll be looking for a fresher version later this year.

First rated in 2021, now adding comments from the 2022 version.
Elevation gets fresh hops from Montrose, Centennial I believe. The result is a fresh hop beer that can be in the same conversation as the FH beers from Washington and Oregon. It's grassy, with a big aroma. It's got a foamy white head above a cloudy yellow body. It's lightly bitter. Very tasty, with all the freshness of the better FH beers.
My number ratings have been updated, because the 2022 beer is much better than the 2021.
