Style: Light Lager

Continuing with the beers I purchased from Elevation, I selected a light lager. I am using a belcher pint glass, and the temperature is 44 degrees. A semi-hard pour did create a frothy and creamy three-fingered head with average retention. The dissipation left no lacing on the glass. Examining the color, I charted it at SRM 1, pale straw yellow. The clarity of the beer is bright, with some carbonation activity. The appearance of the beer is average.
Nosing the glass, I detect crackers, floral esters, a slight malty sweetness, yeast, and a touch of grass. The nose is clean and according to the style.
I taste crackers, slightly toasted malts, grainy sweetness, and floral. The flavors are spot on with this style.
The mouthfeel is dry yet finishes crisp. The body is light, and the carbonation is medium.
This beer is tasty. I could drink several of these, especially since it was hot outside. What surprised me about this beer is the low abv and the low calories. Generally, these beers would be terrible; looking at you BMC. I did not taste or smelt cooked corn or green apples. I applaud the brewer's deft hand at creating this.

On tap at Benson’s Tavern and Beer Garden in Salida pre-rehearsal dinner. Easy drinker with some French fries.

Crystal-clear, pale yellow body; decent carbonation; thick and frothy white head. Very light cereal grain nose with a healthy dose of herbal and floral hoppiness. The taste follows along the lines of the aroma; white bread crust; mild spiciness with a moderate hop bitterness; very clean tasting. Light body; crisp and semi-dry.
Weighing in at a mere 101 calories and with 3.8% ABV, this beer delivers some surprisingly bold taste and smell. Very nice for the style.
