Name: Salt Caramel Oil Man
Brewery: Elevation Brewing
Location: Poncha Springs, CO
Style: Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
ABV: 10.8%
Date: 2022
My Midwest trip had this brewery stop, and I thought I would get another beer on my review table. I opted for a tulip glass, serving the beer around 50 degrees. The pour created a frothy one-fingered light tan head with average retention. A quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. I am charting the color around SRM 32, dark brown, nearly black. The appearance is average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell caramel, dark roasted malts, chocolate, espresso, bourbon, molasses, oak, bready, and a slight earthiness.
The flavors are bourbon, caramel, a hint of char, dark roasted malts, bready, chocolate, molas
