Brewed for the first time in 2014 (pre-haze craze), this award winning beer is a full-bodied, tropical IPA, with giant grapefruit aroma. Oodles of Galaxy Hops help deliver a balanced mix of citrus, tropical fruit, and sweet malt flavors. This beer is extremely popular and has the perfect combination of drink ability and taste. 5% by volume. Cheers!

a new one to me, part of their mixed twelve pack of cans. i knew these guys made some clean beers, but i didnt know any of them were packaged, its always the crazy sours and flavored ones i see in the cans. this is solid, lighter than many, and with a unique hop profile that compliments the citrus really well, quite a lot different from all the other grapefruit ipa types out there, which i immediately appreciate with this. hazy deep yellow to pale orange, not thick or dense looking, heady and lively and well refined for this type of beer, light too. the aroma and flavor are more the oily almost pithy bitterness of the grapefruit to me, its true essence, rather than the sweet and tart juicy flesh, no acidity here, no residual sugar, and its not overdone, hops ahead of fruit. id love to know what varietals are in play, but they hint on complimentary notes of key lime, lemongrass, and even tea, all botanical and fresh and pretty bright, not overly dry hopped and green, and not adding much more bitterness than the grapefruit brings on its own, great interplay between these elements, and it remains clean and easy to drink, very well designed and executed. perhaps a southern hemisphere flare to these hops, they are very light on the more assertive pine quality that so many brewers like to put into the grapefruit ones, i feel like simcoe and centennial are big in this sort of brew, and downright absent in this, very cool change of pace for the style. clean on the ferment, nice to know shades is capable of that too. good stuff here, different from the rest of them in a real good way...

12 oz can from Hinda65 into a Yakima Valley wide mouthed glass.
Really deep juicy orange color with a tall creamy head of 3 fingers, receding gradually to 1/2 finger.
Aromas of juicy general citrus, some sulfur, a little burnt tire rubber, and a bit of grapefruit seltzer.
Flavor brings grapefruit flesh and orange peel both, followed by some cracker/breadiness, lemon icing, and finally a finish of lemon wafer cookie.
Feel is acidic and juicy with some heaviness and hardness to it, almost like hard water, with a moderate to heavy alcohol presence and some acidity and lingering resins on the finish.
Overall not a bad IPA. A good one to jam on for a half an hour while watching YouTube videos.

12 oz bottle from Harmons. Yellow, hazy body with small frothy head. Aroma is citrusy, grapefruits, hint of lemon. Taste is more citrus, very light, but the body is nice. A bit of lingering tang.

I love this. It is thin in some respect...but creamy and satisfying. A nice orange julius-esque look: hazy, orange, creamy head. A citrus, grapefruit smell and a medium mouthfeel (perhaps on the lighter side of medium-bodied). Tastes like a grapefruit bomb with a herbal and malt backbone. Very juicy. A great brunch beer.

A very solid New England-style session IPA. Definitely lives up to its name - the grapefruit is quite prominent here. It has a creamy mouthfeel and a smooth aftertaste almost entirely lacking in bitterness. It's a little bit on the thin side, but overall very impressive for the ABV - lots of flavor and it nailed the creamy mouthfeel and juicy/fruity flavor.
