a new low calorie ipa they were pouring in here when i visited this weekend. its a solid offering really, one of the better beers i have had in this rapidly emerging category, which i am still not sold on completely, but seltzer is having a major impact obviously. this is hoppy without being bitter, seems like citra leading the way, bright and summer in complexion, not forced super clean. its got flavor from the grain too, but is light without being watery at the same time, almost feels like a good pils, nice and dry but the malt is part of the taste, not irrelevant here at all, and i think the mineral profile is nice with it as well, very snappy, almost lagered character to this. the fermentation is clean, and the quality level here is high even if the beer doesnt have a whole lot going on, i found it refreshing and fizzy and fresh tasting with no dumbed down vibe or cheapness to the finish, which so many of these have to me. im never going to be the guy buying these, asking for them, counting the calories in my beer, its not me, and i dont love the movement towards this kind of drinking and brewing, but i get that it probably has to exist right now, and its better the beer taste like this than most of the others in the game. they should be proud of this, quenching and bright and nice. not wanting for anything.
