some of these beers are being done as collaborations with places that aren't breweries now, this one with a place called ice haus, i am not familiar. its the same sour base as i think they all are, but now done with things like tomato, chili pepper, horseradish, black pepper, celery seed, worcestershire sauce, what am i forgetting, everything you need for a good bloody. its neat with the beer part being a sour instead of a yellow lager, its sounds weird on paper, but it works, and all who share in this can find it to be quite compelling and tasty, for me especially so on a hangover, this really scratches the itch. its not the prettiest beer, pretty thick, although not as thick as their slurry series, just a short head, and a weird dull reddish color from the tomatoes with a ton of sediment. it smells and tastes great through, only lightly sour, a lot of herbal and vegetable character here, very natural, almost like a bloody mary was straight up just blended into this, black pepper and some chili heat at the end, but this is oddly balanced, and still somewhat beery with a little grain coming through before the yeasty sourness. its maybe a little too unrefined to get super high marks from me, these guys simple have got to clean their stuff up better, but its hard to argue the recipe or the flavors, it really works, and i was impressed with the authenticity overall. complex and good, not too acidic to drink, nice morning beer. the flavors these guys do are getting way out there, but they keep on tasting good. impressive.
