cranberries and almonds in this edition, the series that keeps on giving, getting weirder, and staying awesome, this was easily my favorite of the three we recently dipped into, its amazing, among the best i have had from these guys, the almond makes it unique as they come. a little soft pink tone to this, sedimented like all of them are, but not as egregiously as some others, and carbonated like a soda, even though the head is pretty minimal. the aroma is really different, i get an almost amaretto thing to it, which, obviously is cool with some sourness hence the cocktail, almost like almond extract for baking instead of real nuts was added, which is how it tastes too, but i love it. i love it with the cranberry, which is natural as can be, easily recognizable in the absence of other fruit, a bridge to the sour yeasts, and sort of pithy and drying, nothing sweet about this. there is however a sort of baked element, maybe from the almond and the grain together, my brother in law says lemon poppy seed muffin, and i get that, light but still baked, to me more like a new school biscotti or something, but it works, a little citrus squeeze late, rushing carbonation, cranberry tang, its killer. i love the mix of flavors in this, ambitious but also straight forward, i could drink a bunch of these, which i rarely say with beers from this series. still in need of some final refinement like they all are, but this one is better than others. dont miss it!
