the latest i have seen from the slurry series, plums and lactose and marshmallow in a sour ale, weird but intriguing, but i guess this whole series is exactly that. the color is muter deep pink to lavender purple, highly viscous but without head like most of them have been, slick looking, darker and with deep purple flecks of sediment at the bottom, plum skins maybe, who knows how real the fruit and everything they use is. it smells nice, sweet for sure, a vanilla note, candied grape, natural tang from the plum with the clean and moderate sour profile is nice, plenty of the marshmallow too, making this smell desserty, very holiday as well. the flavor is good, very cohesive, lots of plum and identifiable as such, tart and sweet at the same time, and i find myself appreciating both the lactose and the marshmallow, a rarity for my personal tastes, but this beer depends on those elements. no grain or hop flavor to appreciate here at all, i still think a hop edition of this slurry series would be cool, but i love the festive and fun nature of this, even if i am happy to be sharing the can, this is better than a novelty brew but still a small doses thing for me, thick like jelly and any acidity isnt enough to cut through it. the sweetness isnt overdone either though, and i end up just shaking my head at this, like, its delicious, but its so weird, modern as can be, not a style ill ever rave about, but this is better than many of them out there, these guys continue to impress with the flavored stuff...
