yet another whacky off the wall flavor from these guys in a beer that is grossly under refined, raw even, but again the aroma and flavor are right, i wish they could deliver those in a cleaner, objectively better beer, because they would really have something going then. this one is cool because the lemon is curdy and sort of cooked, but has the right kind of clean tangy sourness too, the lactic souring makes the lemon seem especially authentic here. the vanilla and lactose and marshmallow together are close to too much, but they do give it that whipped topping appeal, less sweet than some of their others but sweeter than i need in a sour at the same time. cinnamon is a weird choice, its subtle here, but do people put that in lemon meringue pie? if they do, i am not aware of that. there is a definite crust-like element from the malt too which really rounds it out and completes the theme. no complaint on taste at all, but the beer is a little saggy feeling, sedimented and without any head from the tap, and just sort of sloppy. i love the flavors and i hate to miss a beer in this series, but at the same time i rarely want to drink a whole one. im sure not too many people are complaining though, they seem to be blowing up like crazy. is it just me who can like and respect this but also humbly ask for more from it?!
