this is awesome stuff, the latest from shades and part of their earthquake series. its delicious beer, done with orange, honey, and ginger, which come across about equal in proportion to me in both aroma and flavor, and again we have a cleaner looking, more refined beer from these guys, nice to see their overall quality apparently ticking up a bit, no chunks, no gross dense trub at the bottom of the can, actually holds some head, this is progress. i love the flavor combination in this glowing pale orange brew that sort of matches the color of the can, tangy orange and tangerine coming through boldly and very natural to me, zesty and not too sweet but definitely summery. the honey is sweet in the middle, floral and enriching, highlighting some of the pale malt in the base beer and balancing some of the obvious lactic acidity, but also bringing that true honey flavor which loves both the orange and the ginger. finally the ginger is very real too, not super spicy but not candied either, there the whole time, deeply early, and really marrying in supremely well with the other flavors. this is the perfect amount of sour too, not too much acidity but enough to be cleansing and refreshing on the finish, and the carbonation pops. they really got this one dialed in, a top shades beer in recent memory for me. they have always been among the best and most creative with the flavors of these, but now the quality of the actual beer is catching up. this crushes!
