the beat goes on for this fun series, kettle sour with peanut butter and lactose and in this instance a ton of blackberry, tastes like the sandwich, even a nice white bready grain note to it. having this on tap is cool, seems more refined and less murky and messy than most of the canned ones have been earlier in the series, and i think the blackberry works exceptionally well. the acidity also feels toned down to me, like this is just tart without being over the top bacterial or anything, which keeps some of the peanut butter richness on the palate, and the proportions are excellent overall. novelty flavors yeah, but this is good enough to drink multiples of, even though i didnt. dense looking brew with a radiant deep cranberry reddish pink color, gorgeous saturation and a decent head on it from the faucet, slow fade, light pink bubbles, hazy but not gross as some of them have been. it smells and tastes no more sour than the natural tang from blackberries is when they are on the edge of peak ripeness, gives it some real authenticity. the lactose is also not overdosed which is nice, adds a little textural richness to the beer without making it diabetic, well done there. the grain is light, this is fruit and peanut butter dominated, but its there enough to keep this beery and add that bread crust thing. the sweetness left in here definitely gives it a jelly vibe, and the peanut butter is tasty, honest, less powdered and cheap than it can often be in beer. overall this is playful and delicious, maybe the best in this series ive had so far, even if the carbonation is lacking a little, its really true to the mission of the sandwich. respect!
