Found this beauty in Ameristop off of Fields Ertel Rd.
Pouring a deep blackish brown with a nice head into a pint glass showcasing
a nice head of light tan foam that settles to a thick ring and layer; this one is
rather inviting for a "gas station brew". Nose of chocolate, caramel malts, a touch of char,
and touched with coffee and oats. Flavors follow with aplomb featuring sweet dark
chocolate and mild coffee notes smoothed out by oats and showing a touch of char on
the rear. Excellent mouth feel; smooth, rich, lightly creamy, medium low carbonation,
and a sweet chocolate and light coffee finish that is lightly bitter.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a great Ohio brewery.
Cheers

12 ounce bottle, I'm pretty sure this was released in the past week going by what the local AmeriStop posted on their Twitter. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate, oats, and a bit of coffee. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark fruit noticeable too. Good amount of sweet and roasty flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a little creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good easy drinking stout, glad I bought a 6-pack this morning! Certainly worth picking up the next time you're at the Reynoldsburg or Lancaster AmeriStop.
