September 26th, 2013 - The brain trust behind the excellent naming schemata at Wet N' Wreckless are a little behind on this particular meme, but it does draw the eye to their honey flavored brew. And the honey is expeditiously evident shortly after the pour. Scents of dark honey gush from the top of the glass, with other sugary sweet scents including light molasses and a slight caramel note. The flavor is more geared towards a wheat beer, but boozier, like a wheatwine. Other heavy sugar bombs in tow include more dark clover honey, fig, simple syrup and a low, grumbling malty background. Flippantly named, this is a bold beer, and while its punch might be a bit clumsy, there's no lack of flavor inside.

Dark mahogany with a ruby glint in the Bellegems tall glass. Lots of the Belgian yeasty flavors without the excessive drying finish. Honey seems to be the theme here but it doesn't dominate the flavor. Sweet to start, but the yeasty sensations give it some balance. Even after three weeks in the growler in my refrigerator it has decent carbonation. A nice balance of tangy taste with the big malt and honey sweetness. Hops seem to be out of the picture, but the funky wild undertones do the job instead.

This is the beer on the Wet 'n Reckless tee shirts. It kind of sums up the wild 'n crazy brewing that goes on at this place. We have enough Boston Brewing 12-packs. We need more of these kind of shenanigans.
