A brand new fall seasonal ale from Toxic Brew, the recipe reads like a recipe for a blueberry cobbler, but in beer form. Medium body, ready aromas and flavors, lots of blueberry flavor, with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. It's a tribute to the man, the myth, the legend, Davey Hogan, and his plan for blueberry pie revenge in one of our favorite movies, Stand by Me. You may want to drink so much of it that you throw it up all over your enemies. Just not in our bar, please...

The vile concoction entombed in this can could be credibly accused of a great many things: "...lots of blueberry flavor, with hints of cinnamon and vanilla" are not among them. Perhaps I should have known better than to try a beer named after a character famous for projectile vomit. With an abundance of charity I'll score this a 1.25.

16 ounce can, no dating I noticed on it but it was purchased at the brewery a few months ago. Served in a Teku glass, the beer pours a somewhat clear amber color with about an inch or so off-white head that stuck around for a while. Good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like cinnamon, vanilla, blueberries and some bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but I think the blueberry is more artificial/candy tasting than fresh ones. Also wish the blueberry had more of a kick. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a decent overall brew, would like to try it on tap the next time I'm at the brewery.
