Poured from growler into a Tired Hands stemware 8oz glass. The Thing is a very hazy, hay-colored beer with only a thin, white sudsy cap that soon quietly fades to nothing, leaving not a trace behind. Nothing too attractive here.
The aroma of this beer shows how odd and foreign it truly is, and deserving of the title "The Thing". Immediate notes of yogurt, lime, passion fruit, sorbet, and some more fruitiness, with some citrus and berry aromas coming out. Really quite exotic, bold aroma.
Lightly tart, dry wheat beer. Subtle flavors of passion fruit, lime, grapefruit, and kiwi. Somewhat lactic flavor. Soft carbonation, lighter body, and a yogurt-like finish.
I'm not sure what this beer is...like a cross between a Berliner Weisse, a saison, and fruit beer all in one. It's very good, and unique, and quite refreshing. I would call this one of the best fruit beers I've had.
