8 oz. pour on tap at the brewery poured into their flute-like glass, unknown brewing/release date, drank over 30 minutes

A: 2/3 - dark amber/brown coloration; low clarity (cannot read through) initial tannish white head settles into a 1/2 finger head that persists throughout the drinking

S: 7/12 - mostly roasted specialty malts - coffee, chocolate, molasses - with some background breadiness from the likely Marris Otter base; mild grassy/earthy hop aroma instilled from the Pacifica

T: 13/20 - on first taste, there is a subtle roasted malt and hop bitterness that opens the taste buds; this develops into more intense brown ale-ish flavors - caramel, toffee and roasted coffee - with some earthy characters; finishes quick and dry with essentially no aftertaste

M: 3/5 - light body; moderate carbonation - appropriate to style

O: 6/10 - for a dark mild, this is a fine beer, but, unfortunately, this isn't a style that excites me with its thin body and lack of complexity; as an analogy, a dark mild is to imperial stout as a session IPA is to an imperial IPA; give me the latter anytime, and I generally stay away from the former; it's worth a sample, and, if you're looking for a sessionable dark at Tired Hands, this is worth your time and attention (I'll be drinking HopHands instead)

TOTAL - 31/50

Poured from a 32oz growler into a standard pint glass

Appearance: Pours a light brown color with 2 fingers of a creamy off white head. Solid retention and lacing. Body has a slight haze, but is mostly clear.

Smell: Toffee, bread, nutty, hint of chocolate.

Taste: Follows the aroma. Mild sweetness, nutty, toffee, toasted grain, slight earthiness.

Mouthfeel: Light, but with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Super easy to drink

Overall: Really good mild ale. Lots of flavor for only 3.5%. This is a perfect session beer.

On tap at TH. Had alongside the Centennial-cask-conditioned version, though I really didn't think the two were drastically different, except that I definitely enjoy the beer more at a warmer temperature.

This was a very good mild, deviating from Tired Hands' typical hoppy and/or Belgian-type selections. Cloudy chestnut brown pour, with a foamy off-white head that retained well and lacing the glass. Aroma was thick with sweetness, mostly honey, light notes of distant earthy hops. The taste reflected the nose, lots of sugary sweetness, quite hearty for a 3.5% brew, lots of honey, caramel, toffee, toasted oats, very mild herbal/earthy hops. A very smooth mouthfeel, medium body, which was great considering the lower ABV, and a lack of any harsh graininess. A nicely done mild.
