a really unique and top notch saison. its clarity stands out right away as uncommon in saison, especially one that advertises its wheat base, but there it is, clear as day. the nose on it is awesome, you smell both the floral and vegetal bitterness aspect of the elder flowers, which, works in this beer. the yeast is strong and strange, a little funky, but more belgian, and loaded with a green pepper capsicum element that i dont all the way love in isolation, but blends in really well with what else is going on. in the taste, its more of a peppercorn than a pepper vegetable, but its still intensely strong, and cool if you like that sort of thing, which thankfully i do. it has a lot of the flower on it too, up front and in the middle, and its more intense than any other beer i have had with this ingredient. really shows it well. the body seems a little light for all the flavors, but there is a lot of structural balance just the same, and all the carbonation really helps. thats so much to drlovemd87 for sharing this special and rare growler. not too many folks in colorado drinking this one tonight i cant imagine, a real treat. thanks dude!
